I have commented recently (and before) that 99.9999+% of the universe is outside of our reach. A consequence of that is a question for creationists: why all of all that when it has no effect on what is happening here?
An enterprising scientist has determined how far radio waves have traveled away from Earth since the invention of the radio (1895, actually radio waves were created before the invention of the device). Remember that these waves travel at the speed of light and it would take us or aliens much longer to physically achieve that same range.
The illustration (see below) is only shown against our own galaxy, which is just one of several hundred billion such galaxies.
Enjoy!
I don’t need a god to make me feel small … it comes naturally.
Addendum Actually that is not our galaxy as I could get far enough back to snap the photo. It is of another galaxy that has a similar size and structure to our own.
No kidding. Why this doG would create the entire universe, but only allow this one small planet we humans inhabit is beyond my comprehension. OK, that isn’t really saying much, being just an old broken down working class man basically makes my comprehension limited by definition (well according to the elites it does).
This also, in a bit of a round-about manner apply to this very same doG planting a certain tree in a mythical garden then telling the only two humans who lived in said garden to never, ever eat the fruit of this tree. Yeah, just like say I have two diabetic kids who should never eat candy. I bring in a big box of candy any way and tell them they must NOT eat any of it. Anybody who has kids, hell, anybody who was a kid knows without any doubt what will happen. Yep, the diabetic kids WILL eat that candy, get sick and maybe even need to get medical treatment. Of course I, the moron who put the candy in the home,is not responsible for this outcome. Why am I not responsible? Why isn’t this doG responsible for the supposed “fall”? Same thing to me, but then as I said, my comprehension may be very limited.

I once wrote a piece about being a responsible parent and a god and ole’ Yahweh doesn’t come off looking very good.
In fact, I can’t imagine Old Yahweh coming off looking good to anyone. The character (as he is fictional, I refer to it as “the character”) flies into a rage and shouts “Kill them, kill them all!” whenever any of the tribes refuse to worship him. (Anger management he needs! Shut up, Yoda!)
His response to almost anything is Kill! Kill! Kill! And we are supposed to worship that?
Interestingly a bunch of Christians deduced that the gods of the OT and NT couldn’t be the same god, so they concluded they weren’t. The Catholic Church declared them heretics and tracked them all down and … wait for it … wait for it … killed all of them! Old Yahweh doesn’t like differences of opinion, either.

You reminded me of what some pope from days long gone is supposed to have told his troops about some city they were fighting against/ The general asked the pope who they should kill, the pope is supposed to have replied “kill them all doG will know his own”. Yes sir, that buy-bull doG is quite a character.

That is a story from the first Crusade (the Cathars?). Most scholars think the story is apocryphal, but it has a kernel of truth in it which is why it has survived so long.

The truth is the truth no matter what and even if no one believes it. The truth will always shine through even if it takes millions of years and humans are long gone. It will be our loss that logic and rational thinking did not win out, but superstition and fear did. Hopefully on some other planet reason and not fantasy will reign.

Maybe we could just try that and see if it works … here.
