If I had the energy, I would make this a weekly or daily activity, namely pointing out the egregious contradictions in the Bible. Because, if you can support a contradictory source of authority, you can claim anything. So, for those who believe in the inerrancy of the “Holy Bible” I submit:
“This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the Devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister” (1 John 3:10).
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26)
So, Jesus is a child of the Devil?
Why should a Bible that’s written by schmucks like us be free of contradiction? Everyday life is rife with exaggeration, figure of speech and error. Then a guy shows up a living contradiction to the expected Jewish Saviour. Death contradicts life, OT God Jesus, etc.
We don’t have all the answers so we discuss stuff. For example, in the last year or so I’ve changed my view on biblical inerrancy, influenced by our discussions. Life contradicts life.

I think the concept of biblical inerrancy actually blocks a deeper understanding of the Bible. But, there are folks who do not want people to have a deeper understanding of the Bible. They want to be able to dictate what it means without contradiction, themselves.
As always, I wish you well on your journey.

I must specify: I agree with your first sentence because to me bible difficulties promote face-time relationship–I’d best go to the source to get a personal understanding. (Not saying my take is right.)
