The President has told Congress that “they can’t legislate and investigate at the same time.” While the President may have never heard of multi-tasking, this comment just begs for a snappy comeback, so I will offer mine and then open the floor.

Snappy Comeback #1
The President seems have confounded his problem regarding chewing gum and walking with how the Congress functions.

The floor is yours!

  1. Bets that the orange haired rodent cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.
As to congress being able to legislate and investigate at the same time; they have multiple committees so they could do both. The real trick is getting either, let alone both, houses of congress to actually do anything except bitch about how they get so little respect from us proles. We mentioned this a few posts back right here. Respect, loyalty, and trust must be earned.

    • Sucker bet that! The comment was patently stupid. Trump wants neither legislation nor investigation and is hoping the Congress ends up like a dog with two tennis balls, the both of which will not fit simultaneously in their mouth.

I laugh at those who claim Trump gas a strategy to do this or that. Impossible. A strategy requires more than 100 milliseconds of thinking time.

  2. Maybe one really can’t legislate and investigate at the same time. But a member of Congress can just switch from legislating to investigating and back, kind of like the president moving seamlessly from watching TV to playing golf to tweeting.
And what the stable genius effectively just told Congress is that since he’s not going to legislate with them, they are free to spend all of their time on investigating him.

    • That was my first thought, but why would he expect the House Democrats to busy themselves with legislation the GOP Senate will just ignore? How is that attractive?

      • He needs a win. Any win. If no win is possible, he’ll crap all over everyone and will say he won.
