Dear Friends,
I have had a change in vocational obligations and so to make room for those efforts I am giving up this blog. I was waiting to make the 1000th post mark but have decided that that was kind of silly, so I am pulling the plug now.
Since I cherish the relationships I have formed with those of you who comment regularly, I will continue to keep in touch through comments on your blogs. Thanks for all of the feedback, encouragement, and praise along the way. And don’t give up the fight. We built the middle class of our memory before, we can do it again (this time I hope it does not involve a World War).

I finally figured out what American Exceptionalism means! It was so simple, I just didn’t see it. It goes like this:
The United States is the greatest country in the world! … except for all of the guns and gun violence … except for all of economic bullying around the world … except for all the warmongering and arms selling … except for the racism and homophobia … except for all the religious hatred … except … except …
Uncommon Sense 
Oh, your vital voice is sure to pop up somewhere, like the groundhog burrowing another tunnel that opens into a well manicured yard … ever disruptive, ever releasing new oxygen and insight! In the meantime, my thanks.

That’s why I am taking down the blog. I am a devote of mark Twain who famously said (not a direct quote, my memory is not that good) that one should always give in to temptation as we don’t know when it will come by again.

Yep, that and I want to start a bog for Archery parents. I am writing more books and I want to get back to writing fiction … which takes a lot of time.
And, I won’t disappear. I will be following you and many of the others in our little atheistic circuit.
By the by, I am reading a fascinating book called Christ’s Ventriloquists. The author is making a fabulous case for why Paul invented a new religion that was anathema to Jews. His approach is to use legal evidenciary analysis of Paul’s letters, Recommended (although I haven’t finished it).

They’d do anything to get their hands on that magical lamp! Can you imagine what a weapon that would be?
I saw the report and I think it is both a kind of cheap shot as well as a condemnation … of polling.
